About Mark:

Mark’s work as a production designer demonstrates his keen understanding of setting, and his ability to translate that vision into film. The diversity of Mark’s talents has awarded him the opportunity to develop a robust portfolio designing many different genres of film and television such as military bases, Civil War battle scenes, middle America exteriors and interiors, opulent penthouses and a variety of period sets.

Mark Garner is a Production Designer that has been in the film industry for over 25 years. He became a much sought after set designer on such films as My Girl, Lost in Yonkers and The Notebook. Having worked his way thru the art department as an Assistant Art Director, Art Director and now Production Designer, he understands the critical intricacies of set design from creative vision to budget management.

Mark graduated from the University of Florida, College of Architecture and immediately landed his first job on HBO as a set designer. He quickly honed his skills of understanding how to translate concept, mood and look into a film set by working under the mentorship of many award-winning designers and art directors.

Mark is dedicated to his craft and always aspires to excellence in design.

DAVID MAKES MAN:

Synopsis: A 14-year-old prodigy from the projects who is haunted by the death of his closest friend and relied on by his hardworking mother to find a way out of poverty. Inspired by events in series creator Tarell Alvin McCraney’s own life.

A young boy fighting cancer writes letters to God, touching lives in his neighborhood and community and inspiring hope among everyone he comes in contact. An unsuspecting substitute postman, with a troubled life of his own, becomes entangled in the boy’s journey and his family by reading the letters. They inspire him to seek a better life for himself and his own son he’s lost through his alcohol addiction.
